We aim to foster a diverse and inclusive community where women not only enter the field but thrive as leaders, innovators, and mentors. Through Building Speed, we envision a future where female contributions are recognized, celebrated, and integral to shaping the next generation of motorsport.
Meet Our Team

Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Amanda Perez is an engineer at Ford Performance Motorsports and the founder of Building Speed. She started Building Speed to help students and young professionals find their way into motorsports—connecting them with mentors, opportunities, and real industry insight. Amanda earned her Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University, where she researched Driver-in-the-Loop simulators and driver performance. Passionate about racing, engineering, and creating space for others in the sport, she’s driven to make motorsports more accessible for everyone.

Chief Communications Officer
Catalina Schlein is a sophomore studying sports management with a Motorsports concentration at the University of South Carolina. She is also minoring in German and art history, with aspirations to work in Motorsports in Europe in the future. Since before she can remember, her family watched F1 together every Sunday. She gradually became more interested in the sport, and attended her first race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, in 2021. The rest is history: she was hooked. Since then, Catalina has attended races of various other series, including NASCAR and IMSA. . This summer, she will be interning in operations at the Laguna Seca WeatherTech Raceway in Monterrey, California.

Chief Marketing Officer
Megan Pron is a sophomore student studying marketing and sports management at Miami University. Ever since she was little she knew she wanted to work in motorsports, but did not know where to start. Over her first year at college she taught herself how to make a resume, Linkedin, network, and interview which eventually landed her an internship at Pikes Peak and the opportunity to shadow at multiple European races next fall including Formula One.

Social Media Lead
Love Morales Saldías is an aspiring motorsport professional specializing in hospitality and event management. A recent graduate of Stony Brook University, she earned her degree in Business Management with a specialization in Marketing. During her time at Stony Brook, Love served as Senior Event Coordinator for Student Engagement and Activities, where she chaired and staffed over 125 large-scale events
Her passion for motorsport ignited after attending her first event hosted by Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA)—an experience that opened her eyes to the industry’s collaborative and high-energy environment. Since then, she has volunteered at prestigious events such as the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix and the Formula E Miami E-Prix, gaining hands-on experience in operations and hospitality that fuel her drive to build a career in racing.
